Summary

To assist Campus Dining Services in meeting the daily service needs and expectations of customers. These positions are 10 month positions, requiring 10 hours of work per week (320 hours of work in exchange for a $4500 room waiver). All hours worked each week beyond the required 10 are paid biweekly.


Description

Provide high-quality service to customers. Perform cashier duties, as/if assigned.

Prepare food according to instructions. Read and follow recipes, taste test products prior to service, ensure proper product temperatures.

Follow proper food handling techniques, including: recording temperatures, using proper utensils, following proper food storage procedures.

Assist in completion of Serving Line Worksheets; collect accurate data regarding amounts of product prepared and served.

Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe and secure working area.

Set up service/preparation areas as assigned.

Assist in training new student employees in food preparation and service.

Clean and replenish the service/preparation areas, dining room, and dishwashing/pot-and-pan areas during and after service.

Complete required training.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.

General supervision is received from designated student or full-time management staff.

Physical Requirements

Duties imply the use of hand held serving utensils and the ability to hand food to customers.

The ability to operate food service equipment (dishwashers, slicers, fryers, pizza ovens, cash registers, etc.).

Communicate orally and in writing with various audiences.

Must be able to work varying hours as required.


Qualifications

To be eligible for a MizzouMade student title, an individual must be enrolled at the University of Missouri for at least 6 on-campus credit hours, and regularly attend classes.

Demonstrated communication and teamwork skills, and ability to work independently.

Ability to accurately and efficiently work with detailed information/data.
