The Student Affairs Marketing and Communications department serves all areas of the division. At Mizzou, Student Affairs touches on every aspect of the student experience. Our staff members deal with where students live, and we also focus on how students live. We help students at work and students at play. We nurture them through the food they eat and the advice, health care, services, facilities and other resources we offer. We welcome them — and their families — into life at the university, before they set foot on campus and continuing into the years beyond graduation.
The graphic design intern will work in a branch of the Student Affairs Marketing & Communication department with 2 full-time designers, several student designers, and marketing students. The main focus will be event and Summer Welcome marketing design, with a heavy emphasis in brand cohesion.
Interns in the program are required to create and deliver a final presentation.
Interns in the program are expected to participate in professional development opportunities.
Functional supervision is received from the department manager.
No supervision exercised.
Ability to communicate and comprehend verbal and written information/instruction.
The ability and patience to listen and understand the speech of a diverse customer base considering cultural, demographic, geographic and other important factors influencing communication.
Familiar knowledge of tablets and computers.
Must be an enrolled University of Missouri student throughout the duration of the internship.
Candidates will be required to complete the online application, submit a cover letter, résumé and portfolio with design examples.

At the completion of the internship, the student will be able to:
